    UX Research Workshop @Singapore 2020

    What the workshop is about

    This 3-day workshop is a fast-paced, condensed version of digital product life cycle activities to apply UX research techniques to uncover meaningful insights to build digital products. It is designed to promote collaboration within interdisciplinary in-house teams.

    Participants will take on a group project to derive customer personas & journey map, learn about user research methods and prototype conceptualisation & ideation through user-centered, evidence-based design approach.

    Who should attend the workshop

    Participants can either sign up as an individual (and will be grouped with other participants), or sign up as an in-house interdisciplinary team consisting of up to 5 team members.

    As part of the coaching framework, we require each team to have at least three members of the below mentioned these roles:

    • Product Owner / Project Manager
    • Project Manager
    • Designer (UX / UI / Interaction / Visual)
    • Developer / Technical Architect (Frontend / Mobile App)

    Teams may use their remaining slot(s) to include members of the following role(s):

    • Innovation Manager
    • Digital Marketer
    • Data / Web Analyst
    • Business Analyst
    • Web Content Writer
    • Customer Service / Operations Manager

    All participants must be able to attend all workshop sessions.

    What will the learning outcomes be

    Participants will learn and practice on developing personas & customer journey maps  (Day 1), design research plan & learn to conduct moderated research interviews & usability testing (Day 2), perform research synthesis & product prioritisation (Day 3).

    Teams will learn to collaborate within interdisciplinary team setup in a fast pace, high intensity environment to develop innovative and realistic prototypes. Participants will deepen learning through reflections, retrospective and peer sharing sessions.

    Meet the UX Coach

    Raven Chai

    Founding Principal, UX Consulting

    Raven Chai is the founder,  principal consultant at UX Consulting, has over 18 years experience as a technologist, experience designer and usability practitioner. He has been involved in implementing UX practices in more than 200+ projects across various industries and of different products – eServices, bank applications, large corporate websites, eCommerce, lifestyle, B2B portals, TV and mobile apps. 

    He has been providing advisory to various government statutory boards like Enterprise Singapore, EDB and DesignSingapore Council in the areas of User Experience practices.

    Together with a group of passionate professional designers and student volunteers, he founded a local UX Community, UXSG as a platform for UX professionals, designers, developers and business owners to share knowledge and connect people within the industry. They have since organised three user experience conferences in Singapore since 2013.

    Raven held the position of Regional Director for Asia region within User Experience Professional Association International (UXPA) from year 2012 – 2014, to promote professional learning and collaboration among design and research practitioners.

    Raven holds a bachelor degree in Computer Science, major in Human-Computer Interaction and Visualisation from University of Queensland. He is a lifelong fan of Liverpool Football Club and Roger Federer.

    Minimum no. of participants or this workshop: 6
    Workshop Fees / pax: SGD $1,200 + $84 (GST)

    Encouraged participants to sign up for this workshop as a product team with 3-5 members within the same group.
